A Toast To Tea

During the journey of adapting to the raw food diet I had to give up coffee. That was quite the challenge, I started with eliminating coffee two times a week… then three …then back to drinking it all five days. One thing I did realize is that without coffee in your system you can feel your body as in your muscles and organs and when you eat or drink you can actually feel the food being distrubuted, this is very difficult to explain. Where I was tired, cranky and jittery, I knew I had to expand my tea selection. I am so happy I broke the habit of drinking coffee. I feel great, my skin is clear and I can mind is very clear.

I was always a fan of tea but coffee ruled the morning. When I was searching for the habit of having something warm every morning, I started searching for different types of teas. One of my favorite brands is Yogi Tea, they have a lot of flavors with inspiring quotes on each bag along with a yoga pose on the box and coupons inside. So its always fun to drink and read the quote. You can find this product at Whole Foods or http://www.yogitea.com/.

Another tea that I have grown to enjoy is Mighty Leaf Tea, an artisian-blended whole leaf tea in biodegradable pouches. They have many selections including a new collection which has a plethora of sumptuous organic tea blends including, Organic African Nectar, Organic Green Dragon and Organic Detox Infusion. Another cool thing about this collection is that the tea drinker gets a teducation (yes my play with words mixing tea and education). This great brand provides informative, color-coded labels educating consumers on caffeine levels and brew times to enhance the overall flavor and bouquet. You can find this product at Whole Foods or visit http://www.mightyleaftea.com/.

What are some of your favorite teas?

I have never liked tea of any kind. I don't know why, I just don't like the taste of it, but soooo many people do!

Hey CC,
You are my hero for giving up coffee . . . I think I would lose my mind if I tried.

But I love tea too! Right now I have this pomegranate infused white tea that is quite good, but I am all about green tea, both iced and hot. Also there is this Bigelow Vanilla Caramel tea that, with a bit of soy milk, is like dessert!
