Creating Happiness

Have you ever had a goal or thought of a situation in the future and told yourself once this comes to pass then I will be truly happy? I know we have all encountered this, the situation we thought would bring us eternal bliss came to pass and we are still sitting, twirling our thumbs and wondering what happened?

I honestly believe that happiness is an internal state of being that we can only attain ourselves. There are some people that can help us see the light, or give us perspective to help us, but true happiness comes from within. Cliché it may sound I know but when we participate in our daily activities at times it seems redundant. We seek for the future moment that will change everything and it doesn’t change a thing because it is completely external. Happiness is an internal state of being that we need to learn how to find ourselves.

I encourage you to find happiness now, ask yourself the question what brings you true joy and happiness. Once you find the answer capitalize on that and work your happiness into your life now. For some people it may be difficult but push yourself and know that it is okay to sit down and knit for an hour if that is what you like to do. In this journey of happiness I also encourage you to work with your resources and be grateful for the things that you do have. This will create positive changes in your life automatically, but you have to pay attention and see the little blessings as well as the bigger picture.

Here are some ways to create happiness in the present moment.
-Write down what makes you happy
-Make weekly goals to do something that makes you happy every day
-Write down five things everyday you are grateful for
-Focus on a calm state of being
-Pay attention (notice the changes that are happening, if it as little as meeting someone who likes to knit now you have a new friend)
-Write down the changes
-Follow your intuition


Remember this your personal journey to happiness

I think its really hard for us as women to try and be happy with the present. Its always "If I can just lose 10 pounds" or "If I can just get rid of these blemishes". Thanks for posting this and the tips, we all need help and being content with what we have

I think that happiness and peace comes from God so what I try to do is start my day saying a prayer before I get out of bed. I also find myself singing songs to Him throughout the day :-) I also try to hang out with people that I know make me happy and I think that this past weekend I fell back in love with reading again. We seemed to have lost touch and I've been cheating on reading by talking on the phone.

I am always searching for happiness. I find that I'm usually feeling down and yearning to be happy. I think...once I get this job I'll be happy or once I take this trip I'll be happy or if I get this dress...I'll be happy.

The truth is that happiness comes from within just like you stated. It's an ongoing battle for me to be content and happy with my life at all times.

I will take your advice RIGHT NOW!!

Reading a new magazine cover to cover
Writing a post on my blog
Shopping for beauty products and dresses
Traveling

I have serious issues with findiing happiness. I think spending time with my family, writing posts for my blog, and helping someone ultimately make me feel my happiest. Amazing Post!
