This Sunday is the day to celebrate Dad. If your father, guardian or individual that you celebrate Father’s Day with is health conscious or you would like to encourage them to become healthier, these gifts can help them get on the right track.
Exercise Equipment- For the busy man or the guy who needs a little encouragement to start working out, at home exercise equipment can do the trick.
Spa Package – Relaxation and a little self indulgence is just as important as exercise and eating well. Spa treatments such as massages help the lymphatic glands, water retention and stress.
Vitamins- One thing that is essential to stay healthy is the consumption of vitamins and minerals. Many times the food that we eat will not provide all of the nutrients that we need. Vitimans are a wonderful supplement.
If is official. We made it half way through the year. Are you on track with your goals? If not what is keeping you from living and creating the life that you are meant to live. We are all put on this earth for a purpose and it is your job to find it and honor the universe by sharing your gifts and dreams with others. You have the ability to become a living testimony of a happy, healthy and successful person. It starts with you, your beliefs and honoring them, your thoughts, the company you keep and your surroundings.
It has been said many times that your thoughts create your reality. This is true I can tell you from experience. It has also been said that the company that you choose to keep is a reflection of how you feel about yourself. If you are occupying your time with people who you know are essentially a waste of time, unhealthy in an emotional and spiritual sense, you keep them around to feed your ego or you are simply afraid of being alone, it is time to check yourself and really analyze what is important. We all have the capability of achieving great things we just have to get out of our own way and release those who are not truly with us on this path. You will really know who your friends are when you are going through adversity and when you are fully succeeding.
It is never too late to get back on track. If you went along another path during the last six months it is okay. Lesson learned. Now it is time to get back on track and live your best life.
Last week I presented some quotes to help with motivation. This week here are some proactive tips to help you stay on track.
There are many things in life that can easily knock you off your path. One of two things can happen, we can dwell on the situation so much we loose sight of our vision and motivation, or we can see it as an obstacle but use it as fuel to fight and push through. Either way the universe is molding and strengthening us.
The mind is complex but simple. When things are going well, we are on track, happy and ready to embrace life. When something happens we tend to dwell on that one thing and forget that life goes on. Remember, life is an evolving force of energy and we always want the flow of positive energy surrounding us.
Here are some tips to stay motivated when obstacles appear.
Find the root of your motivation and pull from that.
Understand that an obstacle is like a training ground for strength and better situations to come.
Write down the situation. Start with your feelings, next, write down the issue, then, make a list as to why it is an obstacle, finally, write down some possible solutions.
Talk about it. Sometimes when you verbalize your issue you can come to your own conclusion and create.
Learn the lesson and remember it. Lessons will repeat themselves until you finally get it. Stop making the same mistakes.

This week for Wellness Wednesdays, Calming Corners is helping you celebrate Earth Day for your mind, body and soul. There are many activities to participate in for Earth Day. We want you to embrace today but celebrate preserving the earth for future generations all year long. The following are some tips to keep you and the earth well.
Think- simple enough but many of us don’t do it. I will repeat… think. Try this before you do anything. With thinking ask yourself the right questions and be honest and real with your answers. This will not only help you, but others around you as well.
Listen- another simple thing to do. Many of us hear, and come to our own conclusions, but we must listen. Listen to what people are telling you, listen to what you are telling yourself. Trust the voice inside of you, it will not lead you wrong.
Preserve – not so simple but it is possible. Preserve your energy and the energy around you. With out self care you can’t be your best. In order to be your best, you need a clear mind body and soul, and then you will be able to have energy to pay attention to your surroundings and others. You can’t help or take care of anyone or anything unless you have the ability to take care of yourself.
Breathe – it will keep you alive. Strong deep breaths will help you clear your head, calm down and move forward.
Move – movement is essential. Exercising brings so many benefits to your life. Take a walk, jog with a friend, or dance. What ever gets you moving do it.
Play – it is important. There is nothing like clearing your mind and simply playing. We are all hard working individuals. Playing brings perspective.
Love – it starts with you. Find the love within yourself, it is only then you will build true confidence. You can’t hide confidence behind your accomplishments, job or title. Your existence started with your truest self. Sometimes it takes going back to basics.
Communicate – use your words. Tell people how you feel, let go of your ego. Sometimes we are so afraid to share our feelings we miss out on opportunities because of fear. Communication is important regarding all aspects of your life. Learn how to communicate clearly and efficiently.
Live well- this is all you really can do. If you are giving your 210% every day and doing the best you can, then let karma take care of the rest.
Give – it keeps you whole. Giving, volunteering, and donating. Find a cause and help others anyway that you can. If it is an organization, friend or family member we all have talents or capability to help others. It will make you feel good.
This list of ways to embrace earth day is in no particular orders there is a purpose here. Each of these things will help you and the earth. To put these elements into earthly perspective.
Everyday that we get up, we are GIVEN oxygen to BREATHE and go about our daily tasks. As we eat, drink, COMMUNICATE, PLAY and work we are using the earth’s resources. That is why we must be mindful of what we do. PERSERVE the earth by LIVING WELL, eating healthy and showing LOVE. LISTEN and THINK as you MOVE throughout your day. Treat the Earth as you would want to be treated.
