Summer is almost over. As we are all so loyally going to the gym and working out, what is left of the summer sun beams through the gym window, you look outside as you are sweating yet barley cooled off by the air condition mixed in the stale smell of your sweat and the sweat of your fellow gym members. The sounds interrupted by that great mix on your ipod are machines from the equipment and weights clicking. You once again look outside and wonder, would the feeling of fresh air and natural sun would be an alternative to the perfect workout.
Although the gym has many variations for equipment the outdoors is just as great. There is wonderful scenery as you work up a fresh sweat. Working out outside enables you to burn more calories and use more muscle due to the natural incline of the road or path and our bodies naturally adjust to the environment changes. Another benefit is an enhanced mood, better sleep and breathing. The fresh air naturally purifies our bodies. Last, the sunlight gives a wonderful dose of vitamin D.
If you motivation is lacking to go to the gym, go outside for a great workout, fresh air, and wonderful view of your city.
Do you like to workout outside or at the gym?

CC

Great post. I would take brisk walks long ago but I have not done that recently. I guess I have become more of a workout indoors kind of person but I think i need to take a stroll outside. :-)
thanks
PJD
I like to be inside, my favorite is walking on the treadmill.
I love to run in central park. I do around 4 miles a day in the summer (yes i'm crazy)
Exercising outdoors in the winter is a bind unless you are lucky enough to be living in a temperate climate where the weather changes very little from season to season so when the sun comes out and we can start to feel a little warmth on our bones we should grab the moment with both hands. You can get more information about Gym Equipment which I browsed on internet can fetch you help.
Considering that I don't really work at in the gym or outside, I'd have to say that I'll miss my walks around the park when it starts getting cooler. Walking is my favorite and only real form of exercise.
Hey CC!
I was hooked on spinning for awhile, but now I don't have a gym membership and I actually don't really miss it!
I'm a runner at heart, and I run outdoors all year long, even in the snow and sleet and hail . . . it's kinda fun to brave the elements!
Great Q!

P.S. Thanks for your sweet comment on my family photo; it made me smile!
