Book Swap

Reading is one of my favorite hobbies. I remember as a child excitedly going to the library every week with my mom and sister to get books. This led to a habit forming obsession. When I was in high school, a huge Borders opened up in my neighborhood. This was practically where I spent my weekends, browsing, reading and buying books and magazines. Then Amazon and Powell’s came along and I think we all know what happened from there. Libraries and bookstores are very relaxing atmospheres for me.

I had a large collection of books and small space to house them, so I donated may of them to local schools and charities. Recently, I have relearned the art of borrowing from the library.
If you have a lot of books that you have read and a long list of books that you want to read, there are many options online to swap books with other readers. Check out this article from
The Detroit News that explains the whole process and includes great websites to get you started.

What are you reading now?

Hey CC it's CC! I love books too . . . just finished a silly mindless one, Chasing Harry Winston. A pleasant diversion! But I have a couple of poetry books I'm working on too. Love this post!

I'm an obsessive reader! I read so much, I can barely get my writing done.

I used to LOVE bookstores, but don't go so much anymore. Folks treat 'em like their living rooms. They take their shoes off, and let their obnoxious brats scream the place down. Of course, they don't buy anything.

I donate my books to the library.

Last month, I got a Kindle, and I love, love, love it! Never thought I would prefer an e-reader over a paper book, but I do.
